Incline DB y-raise
Beginner10 repsNo jumping
How to do it
- Set
- an incline bench to a 45-degree angle and sit facing the bench, chest
- against the pad, with a dumbbell in each hand, palms facing each other.
- Position your feet firmly on the ground for stability and let your arms hang down naturally with a slight bend in your elbows.
- Engage your core and keep your back straight throughout the movement.
- Raise your arms forward and out to form a Y shape, keeping the movement controlled and your elbows slightly bent.
- Lift until your arms are roughly parallel to the floor and in line with your ears.
- Pause
- briefly at the top of the movement to engage your shoulder muscles
- fully, then slowly lower your arms back down to the starting position.
- Ensure
- the movement is slow and controlled during both the ascent and descent
- to maximize engagement of the deltoids and supporting muscles.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, maintaining proper form throughout.
