Assisted straddle planche push-up with resistance band
Advanced10 repsNo jumping
How to do it
- Place a resistance band above you and support it on your hips to offload part of your body weight.
- Get into a straddle planche position with your hands on the floor or mini parallettes, elbows locked, and scapulae protracted, keeping your body parallel to the ground.
- Maintain your hips aligned with your shoulders and ankles, with a slight posterior pelvic tilt and even tension throughout your torso.
- From that position, bend your elbows in a controlled manner to lower your body as a unit, without losing the forward lean or body line.
- Then push the floor and extend your elbows to return to the starting position, keeping your shoulders in front of your hands throughout the movement.
- Complete each repetition with control and let the band assist you only without altering your technique.
- Adjust the assistance so you can move through the full range of motion without collapsing your shoulders at any point.
