Straddle handstand flag progression to one arm
Advanced10 repsNo jumping
How to do it
- Start in a handstand position with your arms fully extended.
- Make sure you have a stable base with your hands firmly planted and your gaze directed at the floor between your wrists.
- This is your starting position.
- Begin the lateral descent of your legs to one side in a controlled manner, keeping them apart as you switch to a one arm handstand grip.
- Lower your legs and bring them together until they are parallel to the floor, forming a ninety degree angle with your torso.
- Hold the position for the designated time, managing balance by pressing with your fingers and maintaining lateral core tension.
- Finally, return to the vertical handstand smoothly or lower yourself to the ground with control.
- The key to this exercise is the ability to dissociate hip movement from scapular stability without losing the vertical alignment of your torso at any time.
